The Reset, Day 6: Just Keep Swimming

A dark nervous system illustration with the words Day Six.

Yesterday was a bigger test than I expected. I ended up skipping the gym to run some errands with my wife, but something was really, really off all day. I was dealing with some serious brain fog. And of course, that’s concerning because the whole point of this reset, working on movement, diet and my nervous system, is that I’m supposed to be feeling better. But something was clearly off.

That doesn’t mean I just abandon what I’m doing because I’m not getting the immediate results I want. Don’t get me wrong, it’s incredibly frustrating, but it’s merely another hurdle to get over. Progress and accountability. That’s what this is about.

Yesterday’s Activity

No gym yesterday. I spent the time running errands with my wife and dealing with the brain fog. Not every day is going to have a workout to check off, and that’s part of the process too.

Today’s Check-In

  • Weight: 193.0 lb
  • Goal Weight: 175 lb
  • To Goal: 18.0 lb
  • Body Fat: 20.7%
  • Muscle Mass: 145.2 lb
  • Visceral Fat: 8
  • Body Water: 57.2%
  • BMR: 1,869 calories

Today’s Plan

Today, I’m just continuing with what I’ve been doing. Making sure I’m watching what I eat, not chasing calories and moving, moving, moving. I’ll be damned if Dory wasn’t spot on with her advice. Just keep swimming.

I will be heading to the gym today, but I haven’t even really thought about what I’m doing. I’m legitimately considering going in with no plan, just to see how that goes. I could do upper body or legs. I think I’ll play it by ear and see where I end up.

We’ll see how it goes tomorrow.

The Reset, Day 4: Learning to Rest

Yesterday felt good. Mixing up the workout really helped get my butt to the gym. Although I only did three sets of sprints instead…
