Look at that weight go up! Yeah, I ate way too much this weekend and drank too much beer. Such is life. But it made me realize something. Yes, I have a goal of reaching 175 pounds, but without a goal date, who gives a shit? I can always say I’m working toward it.
Now, I think I need to do this in chunks. Set a goal to hit 190 pounds, a goal for 185, a goal for 180 and then finally a goal for 175. So here we go. Actual deadlines.
The Weight Loss Goals
| Goal Weight | Deadline |
|---|---|
| 190 lb | November 30, 2026 |
| 185 lb | January 4, 2027 |
| 180 lb | February 8, 2027 |
| 175 lb | March 15, 2027 |
And here’s another rule. If I hit a goal early, I’m moving the next deadline up. I’m not going to use an early accomplishment as an excuse to coast until the next scheduled date. The deadlines can change as I make progress, but the goal stays the same.
To officially reach a milestone, I need three consecutive morning weigh-ins below that goal weight. One good morning doesn’t count. If my weight goes back above the target during those three days, the count resets. Once I’ve confirmed a milestone, I’ll adjust the next deadline based on my progress.
Today’s Check-In

The deadlines aren’t about starving myself or spending hours on the elliptical trying to make up for a bad weekend. They’re about having something concrete to work toward.
Now I have dates to hold myself accountable to.
