Yesterday I branched out a bit and added a main slate double up alongside the usual all day slate. In the end, we split the results — one cash and one near miss.
Honestly, that’s not a terrible outcome considering the boneheaded mistake I made by leaning into Seth Lugo plus a Baltimore mini stack with Gunnar Henderson and Taylor Ward in both lineups. When you make the same core mistake across multiple entries, it can drag everything down at once.
Even with that, both lineups were right around the cash line.
On the all day slate, we scored 130.3 against a 123.4 cash line, which was enough to get through comfortably enough. The top score there came in at 207.8.
On the main slate, we posted 149.4, but the cash line landed at 151.6, leaving us just short. That slate’s top score was 196.5.
What’s Changing Today
I’m taking a different approach moving forward.
I’ve been leaning a little too heavily into stacking teams in cash games, and that can become a real problem. Stacks make sense in tournaments when chasing ceiling, but in cash formats they can create unnecessary volatility.
If a team has a bad night, suddenly you can have two, three, or even four hitters all putting up poor scores at the same time. That’s exactly the kind of lineup fragility we want to avoid in double ups and head-to-head contests.
So today the focus shifts more heavily toward the Trust Score.
That means prioritizing players who consistently produce, avoid bust games, and give us steadier floors instead of forcing correlated stacks just for upside.
The goal is simple: less volatility, fewer dead spots, and stronger overall cash-game consistency.
